European Garden Photography Award: 2nd Place
Tulip Dance by Josie Elias
The tree to the right of the pomegranate is a Ceratonia siliqua, commonly known as the Carob tree, or Algarrobo in Spanish. Created by Christine Lomer and Nick Brown, the garden is informal and features many natural plants, herbs and wildflowers as well as irises, tulips, daffodils and roses. It is built on ancient terraces in the mountainous Sierra Bernia region of the Costa Blanca. The late evening light made the tulips dance. I visit it two or three times a week because it is inspirational, a magical place, always changing, always something new to see and photograph.
